What is a UV Panel?
A UV panel (ultraviolet security print) is an invisible design printed on your ID card that only becomes visible under UV/black light. It’s a powerful anti-counterfeit feature often used in professional and secure ID systems.

Plain vs Holographic Overlay Laminate
Our cards are printed directly onto high-quality plastic using thermal transfer technology. For added protection, we offer two finish types: a plain laminate or a holographic overlay laminate that increases durability and adds visual security.
What's the Difference?
- Plain Laminate: Smooth gloss coating that protects the surface from scratching or fading
- Holographic Overlay: Adds a shimmering pattern or logo that shifts in the light – extremely difficult to replicate
- Both options improve resistance to wear and water
- Holographic is ideal for long-term staff ID or secure roles
You can select your finish when ordering. If security is key, we strongly recommend adding a holographic overlay to your cards.

Prefer full control over the layout? Use our blank ID card template and create your own custom design — or simply ask our team to design it for you. Either way, we’ll send a proof image before printing to ensure everything is perfect.
Option A — Use Our Blank Template
Download the high-resolution template and design in your preferred software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity, Canva).
- Canvas size: 638 × 1016 px (CR80), 300 dpi
- Orientation: Portrait (front & back supported)
- Bleed: add ~18 px (≈1.5 mm) beyond edge if possible
- Safe area: keep key text/logos 20–25 px from edges
- File types: PNG (preferred), PDF, or high-quality JPG
- Logos: vector (SVG/AI/PDF) or 300 dpi PNG
- Colour: sRGB artwork is fine; we print with pro RIP
Tip: Avoid placing critical text near a slot-punch area. If you need a slot punch, we’ll align it for you at proof stage.

How to Order Your Custom ID Cards – Our 4-Step Process
Creating your own professional ID cards with SecureID Print Ltd is quick, secure, and easy. Once you have an account, you’ll be guided through a simple step-by-step system to upload logos, add ID details, select delivery, and approve your proof. Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Add or Select Your Logo
Choose from your previously saved logos or upload a new one. Your logo will appear on the ID card design and in your future orders for faster checkout.
Step 2: Enter ID Details
Add the name, job title, photo, and any optional features like:
- Security icons or disclaimer text
- QR codes or barcodes
- Plain or pre-printed lanyards (Staff, Student, Visitor etc.)
- Optional UV panel or holographic overlay for enhanced protection
Step 3: Assign a Delivery Address
Choose or enter the recipient’s name and full UK delivery address. We only deliver via Royal Mail Tracked 24 or Tracked 48 – collections are not available.
Step 4: Review & Pay
Preview your card design, check all details, and select a payment method. You can pay by:
- PayPal or Credit/Debit Card
- Bank Transfer (for approved accounts)
- Invoice with 7, 14 or 30 day terms (subject to eligibility)
